You do not need to show a COVID vaccination certificate or negative COVID test to enter Tanzania. Health officials may screen you for COVID symptoms on arrival. They may also randomly select travellers for rapid antigen testing.

The Government of Tanzania implemented the eVisa Tanzania in order to simplify the application process for a Tanzania tourist visa for eligible citizens. For the majority of eligible nationalities, the Tanzania tourist eVisa is available as a single-entry visa for a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for 90 days from the date of arrival. For US citizens, the Tanzania online visa is valid for multiple entries, allows stays of up to 90 days within every 180 days, and is valid for one year from the date of arrival. Eligible applicants may apply through the simple Tanzania eVisa application form, which only takes minutes to complete with personal and passport information. Applicants are also required to indicate the reason for traveling and provide the intended date of entry to Tanzania.
